About Us

Foundations in Recovery has been providing Transitional Housing services in the community since 2003. Foundations in Recovery helps individuals who are trying to rebuild their lives and create a future for themselves to connect with the sober community, link them in with resources and refer them to other programs for services when needed, as well as helping residents with life skills, mental health and 12-Step fellowship. We are a current member of the San Diego Sober Living Coalition.

As of July 1, 2016, we are the parent Provider for Community Allies for Psychological Empowerment (CAPE). We offer group and individual therapy through CAPE to community members on a sliding-fee scale, which for many is low to no cost.

We work with several local Universities to place graduate practicum students, and our clinical supervisors directly supervise all trainees and provide weekly training in order to allow for the best services possible to those individuals that we serve.

We currently have several locations in San Diego, which are located in the Eastern portion of San Diego County. We are located within a short driving distance from the Sycuan, Viejas and Barona Reservations, and are close to several freeways, shopping, bus and trolley routes and the Spring Valley Swap Meet.

Foundations in Recovery provides utilities, furnishings, bedding, cleaning supplies, as well as some toiletries and hygiene items for transitional housing clients. We also provide food for some of our clients. We have daily and weekly house chores, house meetings, on-site UA testing and on-site House Managers.

We have served a number of different populations, including individuals who are involved with the criminal justice system, such as Parole or Probation, individuals with Co-occurring disorders, Women with Children, Men and Women, as well as Native Americans and Middle Eastern immigrants and refugees.

We accept self-pay residents, and we also currently place through several contracts. Foundations in Recovery is approved for placements through the Drug Courts and Probation, and we are also able to place parolees that are attending the San Diego Day Reporting Center.

We will be happy to show you any of our locations.

Our program is based on the belief that people can recover, and we are solution focused and recovery oriented. Our entire team is committed to meeting the needs of those that we serve. We believe that recovery works, and that if an individual is willing to do the work necessary to reach his or her goals, they can be successful.

We welcome you home to a new way of life, where you can build your Foundations in Recovery!
